Re: Displaying Earthquake Symbols in my area.
Sounds like the "heavy lifting" is already done and you could monitor quakes in a defined area. If only interested in "big quakes", then just add the symbol to a filter on the current

Re: Displaying Earthquake Symbols in my area.
I know that you can display APRS.fi on Google earth, just as well as Earthquake real time feed from the USGS.
http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/feed/v1.0/kml.php
Don't know if that helps...

Re: Displaying Earthquake Symbols in my area.
From my perspective, I am trying to figure out these 2 possibilities:
1. Someone is 'consistently' doing that:
Decoding the quake information direct from a source and creating a quake location

Re: IPv6?
Hi Lynn,
Not here - all v4 at home - but there are two parts to your question.
1. Is the application itself IPv6 capable? I am guessing there's two parts to this part...

I am curious on how you are getting the data from USGS?
Is it already on the APRS-IS or other internet service that APRS can interface with?
The Ctrl-G filter will allow you to parse this data and

Do you need this tested?
I may be able to converted part of my home network to IPv6 only with a little effort - at least the section of it that I am using between computers with APRSISce/32. This

Hi Lynn,
Make that \Q for Quake the /Q is TBD I think that means To Be Determined.
I will watch and see if the Earth Quake symbol pops up when a quake occurs in my circle of interest around Helena,

IPv6?
Question to the group:
Is anyone out there running APRSISCE/32 on a network that is fully IPv6 capable?

Re: NEMA Does Not Open
Checking the GPS/NMEA box in the RF port configuration tells APRSISCE/32 that NMEA data can be expected from that RF port. It allows APRSISCE/32 to enable the Enables / GPS Enabled menu option

Re: NEMA Does Not Open
Lynn/KJ4ERJ,
Thanks! That clears up some more "loose ends." Given your comment in the first paragraph, what would be the utility of checking the GPS/NMEA box in paragraph 3?
This is a great piece of

Only 1 XML that is important (oh and the "-safe" backup). Then there is a directory for APRSIS32 which has the maps. Logs are placed in the same directory as the XML, put don't impact

Thanks! The answer to your question is "Yes," I was getting APRS data. Your review/explanation helped me connect some basic dots. I had tried the KISS mode in trying to sort this out at one point,

Re: NEMA Does Not Open
If I recall correctly, the D72 does not have the ability to send the GPS data out the USB port to the PC. The D710 does have this ability. You can check the D72 Yahoo group for details on this
