OK I think I have everything running, now I'd like to find out who can hear me on 10.147.3
As far as I know I have no way to know who is using APRS on 10.147.3 USB in the US (tho it's the allocated frequency). I'm definitely transmitting and when it hears some other signal it's definitely responding. Is there a way to real time monitor decoded signals to see what I'm hearing? I'm beaconing as N7TTQ-9 in Portland OR. OK thanks. Jeff N7TTQ

Lynn, I am the one N7YGE is trying to help by eliminating these nuisance Objects from my screen of which I probably have around 50 on my screen every time I bring up SARTrack. It is very annoying since I have no need for them. I tried to get the Summits on Air folks to limit their Objects and they basically told me to pound sand. Since they only show up via my iGate, there is no RF transmission problem. I did find a way to not display them on my screen but had to make a manual manipulation on a daily basis. I did a cut and paste off your suggested filter, pasted it to my filter box, deleted all Objects, closed the program and restarted it. This filter seems to have solved my problem, so Lynn a special thanks from me for solving my problem even though it is not a problem in your program. Thanks again, Herb KB7UVC

Yes, I'm monitoring packets with the positive version of that
filter to make sure it only picks up objects from ON6ZQ. And it's
picking up a bunch of them.
Have you tried going to the :14501 status page on the APRS-IS
server to which the other client is connecting to confirm that the
filter term is actually getting to the server? Some APRS clients
(like mine in some very early versions) may require a restart to
have new filters take effect.

So Randy was correct. "-b/ON6ZQ" should block all
of these, but will also block any other traffic from
ON6ZQ, which may or may not be a good thing for you. A
second choice in blocking filter might be "-u/APN100" but
that will block any packets with APN100 in the "to call"
field, and also may or may not be what you want. I am
unfamiliar with the app being used here, so I can't tell
you how to enter server side filters on it.
It appears those objects are "Summits on the Air" (SOTA)
peaks being injected into the server your friends
application is using. That might explain why we do not
see sota peak objects on APRSIS32. Maybe changing the
server to one that doesn't include sota peaks out might be
helpful. For example when I use firenet, I filter out the
water station objects so they don't clutter my screen. I
don't have to filter those objects out when I use one of
the rotate.aprs2.net servers because they aren't sent on
by that group of servers. Try noam.aprs2.net to see if
they no longer show up.
Be sure to clear out all of the objects after changing
filters or switching servers so you can see if there is

You were almost to the raw packets when you were on aprs.fi. All you had to do is click on "raw" link just below your browser's address field, and copy and paste a few of the raw packets on that next screen. Here are a few: 2021-01-07 08:08:42 PST: ON6ZQ>APN100,TCPIP*,qAC,EIGHTH:;DL/AM-001*071608z4748.05NS01100.77E;SOTA activ. planned on 20210108 1315z2021-01-07 08:08:51 PST: ON6ZQ>APN100,TCPIP*,qAC,EIGHTH:;W7W/SO119*111111z4701.39N/12258.82W.Summits On The Air - www.sota.org.uk2021-01-07 08:10:35 PST: ON6ZQ>APN100,TCPIP*,qAC,FIFTH:;DL/AM-176*071610z4742.92NS01054.56E;SOTA activ. planned on 20210108 1030z2021-01-07 08:10:50 PST: ON6ZQ>APN100,TCPIP*,qAC,NINTH:;W0C/FR037*071610z4017.31NS10531.04W;SOTA activ. planned on 20210107 1800z2021-01-07 08:12:41 PST: ON6ZQ>APN100,TCPIP*,qAC,FIFTH:;HB/BE-111*111111z4655.04N/00726.63E.Summits On The Air - www.sota.org.uk2021-01-07 08:12:50 PST: ON6ZQ>APN100,TCPIP*,qAC,EIGHTH:;E7/BO-067*111111z4500.83N/01654.55E.Summits On The Air - www.sota.org.uk
So Randy was correct. "-b/ON6ZQ" should block all of these, but will also block any other traffic from ON6ZQ, which may or may not be a good thing for you. A second choice in blocking filter might be "-u/APN100" but that will block any packets with APN100 in the "to call" field, and also may or may not be what you want. I am unfamiliar with the app being used here, so I can't tell you how to enter server side filters on it. It appears those objects are "Summits on the Air" (SOTA) peaks being injected into the server your friends application is using. That might explain why we do not see sota peak objects on APRSIS32. Maybe changing the server to one that doesn't include sota peaks out might be helpful. For example when I use firenet, I filter out the water station objects so they don't clutter my screen. I don't have to filter those objects out when I use one of the rotate.aprs2.net servers because they aren't sent on by that group of servers. Try noam.aprs2.net to see if they no longer show up. Be sure to clear out all of the objects after changing filters or switching servers so you can see if there is any improvement. The objects may take several hours to time out if you don't. Mark, KE6BB

you could always try -b/ON6ZQ to block it, I believe

Re: 3rd line in init code for SCS-tracker
Thank you Lynn, and thank you for your help all along with this process. I am using a Micom 2E and I noticed with the initial beacon that occurs during program startup that the power level was super low (tho the transmitter and antenna are matched and running full power using my microphone as input). It turns out that the cable from my SCS-tracker to the radio presumed singled ended input so the TXaudio+ and - inputs were only driven on one side, so the poor input circuit was just floppoing around. I ordered a 600:600 audio isolation transformer to fix it.
Thanks. Jeff

Ok, that's not APRSIS32, but we'll go on anyway.
According to http://www.aprs-is.net/javaprsfilter.aspx:
o/obj1/obj2... |
Object filter |
Pass all objects with the exact name of obj1, obj2,
... (* wild card allowed)
(spaces not allowed) (| => / and ~
=> *) |
So a filter of -o/W7W|CH212/W7W|SK172 should work for you. Or
-o/W7W|* to wipe out all objects that start with W7W/
I'll have to check my internal filter implementation to see if I
handle the | and ~ character substitutions for / and *. Also not
sure if this is a javAPRSsrvr filter feature or if it also works
in aprsc servers.

Good
idea Fred, but that gets rid of the CWOP
weather stations mostly. The original request
was to get rid of WinLink stations and D-Star

Did

Nice
map, but I don't think that's APRSIS32...
If it was, you could test the positive
filter with Control-G for a filter test.
But here's what I think you need:
-s//a/WD
Yes,
there's 2 slashes after the s and one slash
after the a. It says to suppress all "a"
symbols from the alternate table (the red
diamond) with an overlay of W or D.
