Re: Filter Out Objects

Did not work.  Did you try it and it worked for you?  See below as to the right orientation of the /a for a red diamond.  Yes I am using SARTRACK but all programs have the filter box and is universal.  So should work for all aprs programs.  Please send code tested and works for you.

http://aprsisce.wikidot.com/aprs-is-filters

-s//a/DW

Blocks all packets using a red diamond (\a) overlaid with DW

Since the diamond is red should it use the \a and not /a?

-s/\a/DW

Thank you.

Nice map, but I don't think that's APRSIS32...  If it was, you could test the positive filter with Control-G for a filter test.  But here's what I think you need:

-s//a/WD

Yes, there's 2 slashes after the s and one slash after the a.  It says to suppress all "a" symbols from the alternate table (the red diamond) with an overlay of W or D.

You can read more about APRS-IS filters at:

-o is an object filter which is based on the object name.

I suspect you're looking for a -s filter which is a symbol filter.

Please give me a few of the stations you'd like to not see so that I can verify exactly which symbol they're using to build you a suitable -s/ symbol filter.

Beaconing is a good thing because it lets other APRS users know that you're at least semi-interested.  And you have the perfect use for Time Only, fixed stations.  With Time Only checked, APRSIS32 will beacon at the configured Max Time rate.

You might want to set a comment on your station and uncheck Configure / Beacon / Why.  That latter is where the (Time 0:00:00) which is why the beacon was sent.  Why makes sense when you're debugging various Genius Beacon settings, but definitely not for a fixed station or Time Only configuration because it will always say the same thing.

I go back and forth, in this APRS learning curve, of allowing a beacon and not-allowing any form of beacon from either the program, or from the Kenwood D710.

Maybe it's moot point and I don't need a beacon in a rather unpopulated portion of the country. Well, OK, there is upstate Nevada, Wyoming ...hmmmm

Hi Lynn.

The call is VE7LDR and exactly every 15 min. it sends me a TACTICAL alert. It just keeps going till I get a message saying low memory on the computer. If I don't clear it every few days, program crashes.I will try and attach a pic of the options available to me. The options I have are  "Yes"   "Always"   "No"  . If you can tell me where the "Never" button is, it would be much appreciated.

Don't say "No", say "Never".  "No" answers the immediate one.  "Never" will not even queue up new ones.

Can you tell me who the source call is?  I'd really like to know what s/he's sending that can crash APRSIS32.

Re: APRSIS32 wont TX SMSGTE message

APRSISCE/32 will only transmit a message on RF if the target station was recently heard on RF.  You can always force it to RF using the checkbox towards the bottom of the chat.  See http://aprsisce.wikidot.com/message-retries in particular the next-to-last and last paragraphs.

Any possibility the exe is still inside the zip file?
When that is the case, it cannot save the xml.
