Re: Help

And finally, if you cycle power or the TNC settings in the D72, you'll need to disable and re-enable the port in APRSIS32 after ensuring that the TNC is back into Packet mode on the D72.  Kenwood doesn't keep the KISS configuration across restarts of their APRS radios (except for the D74).

I assume you have shutdown, restarted, or something else of similar nature. The virtual serial port may have changed COM ports. I seem to recall the order things were started made a difference. I believe I connected the D72, turned it on, then started APRSIS32.

To pass GPS data to the PC, you need to share the GPS with the PC in your D72. In APRSIS32, you need to add GPS/NMEA too.

I don’t recall if you need anything else at the moment.

It has been a while since I have connected my D72 to my PC(tablet).

Hello everyone, I need the basic configuration setting to link a Kenwood TH-D72 to the APRSIS32 program. I have tried everything but there must be something I missed. I created a port but I am not getting any position or RF data on my lap top. I was getting just the RF at the beginning but now nothing. Thank you for any help.

Time standard and feeding APRSISCE32

I had a while a go a system running on a Raspberry Pi, to feed Location and time data to APRSISCE from a raspberry Pi, that went wrong a while ago.

But I have recently found an easy way to do it.

There are some tweaks I need to figure out, mostly to get the PPS jitter sorted.

But it is working reasonably well.

More soon

Nope, it has a built in route planner. That’s how I plan my cycling routes.

Does RideWithGPS require you to actually travel the route to record the GPX or does it allow you to route or build a GPX from a map (like to plan a route for prefetching tiles prior to a lengthy road trip)?

No, the dump files are not automatically sent.  However, if you can zip up a few of them and e-mail them directly to KJ4ERJ@..., I'd appreciate it.

If it was connected to the internet at the time, if I recall, it should automatically send the dump files to you?  Is that correct?  If not, I can do the update again and send you the files if you'd like to see them.

I use Google MyMaps and output KML.

http://www.google.com/mymaps

GPSies.com does the conversion to GPX and allows track simplification.

Re: Enable (on/off)

With the frequency monitor visible, you can disable it.  Otherwise, attempting to disable it will simply bring it up again.

Or you can right click in the frequency monitor window and disable it from there.

Re: No maps

Lynn Deffenbaugh

What is being described here is the transparency/opacity of the maps.  They default to 50%, but if you had hit the left arrow, you may have decreased the opacity to 0% which is completely transparent.  Hitting the right arrow will increase opacity and may restore map visibility.

But this usually isn't the problem with maps on a fresh install.   That is more often failing to unzip the program or attempting to execute it by double-clicking directly in a .ZIP viewer.

Can you describe your "fresh install" and whether you unzipped the program into a newly created empty directory?

If you see no maps, how did you do a prefetch?

What folder are you seeing file in and what kind of files are they?

What behavior do you see when you start ARPSISCE/32?
