Yes, at periodic celebrations of the Boston Tea Party as late as 1974 attendees would partake of a cup brewed from tea left from the Boston Tea Party. Just to clarify a point (lest one might be confused by the references to T2-135 and T3-135). The T2-135 is the predecessor of the current T3-135. T3-135 is the current model and uses the newer Tracker 3.

Re: Config APRSIS to VFO B TMD710

Perhaps Lynn has better answer for you but here is a work a round.
Launch APRSIS, once the 710 is listed as OK, go to the APRS menu in the 710, change data band to B.  I just tried the work a round and it does work.  Bit of a pain but will do the trick so you can monitor airband on A.

Hello

Sorry for my basic english, and if my problem already post answer . . .

I use APRSIS from several PC via IP from several month, and enjoy it …

Also, with home PC radio, I don’t understand problem to configure Igate  RF <> IS with my TMD 710

Well I verify  RF port config with TMD710  ( mode Kiss APRS12 )
Perhaps delete RF port  and reconfig “ TNC packet “  ???

But when “ Open Command “ test, APRSIS want use only  VFO A

Well, I need use APRS IS  with  VFO B band, because use VFO A Rx other ham and airband …

I must take TMD menu to “ internal TNC “  and  “ databand B band “

And each time, when I send every beacon with “ transmit “  APRSIS takedown  and retake automatically TMD menu “ Databand VFO A “

I editing  XML config file  “ RF port 2 “  but when restart   APRSIS   it change  XML file  “ RF port 1 “   !?!

I hope find answer and understand wich use APRSIS and my TMD710 with  Igate  TNC  VFO B

Sincerely thanks

No, i have not tried IS to RF yet... I was just informed by Robert if you read all the comments. We need an external TNC.

So, i will take his advice, leave my FTM-400 for other purposes and use my other 2m radio and with an external TNC for RF to IS, IS to RF.

Re: Alinco DR135TP and APRSIS32

Rob Giuliano

Simple(KISS) and KISS are the same protocol.  Simple(KISS) has no "OPEN/CLOSE" commands in the XML, where KISS has specific commands for your hardware to change the setup.

I am not familiar with the internal TNC on that radio, but it appears it has multiple modes.  The key is to keep it in the mode you are using.

In your current case:
The internal TNC was placed in KISS mode and stays in KISS mode even through power cycles.  If this is true, you want APRSIS32 to use a port of type Simple(KISS).  This seems to be the case and is working with your setup.

My best guess of your 'previous situation' would be:
You created a port of type "KISS" and chose some type of TNC.  This "assigned" OPEN and CLOSE commands to that radio port.  Then, the radio did not see traffic within the timeout period.  This caused the port to CLOSE - sending the TNC the set of CLOSE commands defined in the XML.  Then APRSIS32 attempts to OPEN the port again - sending the TNC the set of OPEN commands defined in the XML.  This most likely changed the state of the TNC and it stopped responding properly.

GM Gang,

I got an excellent deal on an Alinco DR-135TP to replace my Alinco DR-1200T/KPC-3 as my K7MT Igate.  I needed my Alinco DR-1200T/KPC-3 as a spare in case one of the six mountain top nodes I take care of goes down.

In fact, EAGLHD went down before Christmas but we cannot get to the site before June. We think the antenna broke off but will know more when we get to the site at 10,000 feet (Well 9,900 or so Feet).

APRSIS32 and the DR-135TP worked ok for only a few hours in KISS mode.  I thought I had made a bad decision.  So, I tried Simple (Kiss) and all has been working fine for 4 days !! Woo Hoo !!!!  After reading about the internal TNC, EJ-41U, I discovered it does not support the full KISS command set.  Simple KISS seems to be the answer.

I run on solar and the Radio with Dimmed Screen draws only about 1/2 amp. Transmit is set to low or 5 watts and that is excellent values for a solar/battery APRS station.
