Thanks for the reply Lynn. Actually my station is ve7rxd-9 and yes it is a KPC3+. I’ll reboot it and see if that helps.

Actually, the connected server has nothing to do with the error you are observing.  Instead, it appears that you're transmitting your telemetry on RF and being directly gated by VA7WS-1.  FIVE MINUTES LATER another Igate, VE7RXD-9, is delivering the same packet by way of several digipeats.

I suspect VE7RXD-9 may be running a KPC-3+ in KISS mode and are not restarting it periodically.  Delayed packet delivery is a known issue with this hardware configuration.  (See http://tinyurl.com/clnxc46)

If you check the raw packets at http://aprs.fi/?c=raw&call=VE7EQN-1 you will see what I'm describing.  The T#nnn number is being duplicated, but in every case the error-flagged packet is substantially delayed.

Now, as for the APRS-IS server, your raw packets do not show ANY directly delivered packets on the APRS-IS.  Are you sure you have a valid passcode configured for your VE7EQN callsign?

Lynn (D) - KJ4ERJ - Author of APRSISCE for Windows Mobile and Win32

PS.  Note that it is VE7RXD-9 that is connected to T2TOKYO2, not your VE7EQN-1 station.

Thank you so much,  The Narrow option matched the YouTube video I watched.  I tried playing with the XML file (yes I backed it up - thank heavens) and got many application crashes.  I did find the way to get my KPC-3+ in and out of Kiss mode as I use it for other applications and need to start with it in CMD mode.

Thanks to all for a great product and some really solid docs.  I plan to spend some time in them before I take it mobile.

80 - This is how long the stations stay fully opaque
120 - This is when non-buddies are finally removed
0 - This is when buddies are finally removed

Buddies are anyone listed in a b/ or f/ filter term or any station that you're actively following.  Zero means that they are never removed.  Otherwise, the numbers are in minutes.

Between Min and Max, the station will become steadily more transparent, but I've found that's not as easy to notice as I thought it should be.

Play with Configure / Screen / Orientation options.  Or just play with the window shape (tall vs wide).

If you are N0QK, I'm not seeing you. What is the actual callsign-SSID of the station in question?

See also: http://aprsisce.wikidot.com/doc:transmitting

Unless of course, you are APRS-IS connected in which case you only need to have the proper passcode for your configured callsign.

Russ,
The best way is to go to aprs.fi and look for either your call or Winona mn.

Just at this instant I am switching hardware at my igate, but it should be back up shortly. I'm moving from my KPC-1 to Direwolf.

If your laptop has Bluetooth and you can find a Bluetooth GPS receiver, you should be good to go. I have a venerable TomTom Bluetooth GPS receiver I use with aprsis32 on a WinBook tablet for mobile work.

Last time I looked the TomTom unit shows up occasionally on eBay or Amazon. I have seen others in current production but I am not sure if they are compatible with tablets or laptops. A tad pricey though.

What do you get if you change it to WAY.P?  Oh, never mind.  I suspect it IS set to that and the other is GPS for input to the FT2DR?  Sounds like it doesn't really do APRS anything out the serial port then.  The FTM-350 has a "PACKET" output option that is what APRSISCE/32 supports with the FTM-350 type port.

The NMEA waypoint output loses most of the additional information that APRS provides.  It only gives the coordinate and station ID.  No symbol or comment information nor anything else that APRS provides.  I think you'll be disappointed with the dearth of information even if/when APRSISCE/32 supports such an input.

I tried using the FT350 port with no luck. At this point in time my main concern is to see the locations of the other stations, not to transmit.

I'll try contacting Yaesu tech support, but I don't have high hopes for that ... :^(

My goal for this is to track the SAG Wagons in a cycle charity event, where I may not have a reliable WIFI connection. I wanted to use this program on a laptop screen, not on the small GPS screen.

If you've got a serial connection to the radio, use a terminal emulator and see what is coming out of it.  With those same settings, you can then try an FTM-350-type port and see if APRSISCE/32 displays the received stations.

AFAIK, Yaesu doesn't support transmitting through their APRS radios unless they've changed something recently.

Re: symbols

Lynn Deffenbaugh

You'll also see two columns of station IDs if you check Configure / Scroller / Show IGate/Digi.  The left column will be the station that APRSISCE thinks repeated the packet before you received it.  For APRS-IS (non *'d) packets, this will be the IGate that gated the packet.  For RF packets, this will be the digipeater that you heard the packet from (if it is doing proper callsign insertion).  If the left column is blank, then it appears you heard the packet direct from the origin station (directly via RF or an APRS-IS station).
