Strange Mode on 14070

Yesterday, in the middle of a QSO, this strong signal with a strange mode came right down on top of me, and made it impossible (almost) for me to complete the QSO.

This morning, I'm see on the waterfall a signal that looks just like the one I saw yesterday. Anybody have a clue what this mode is? I tried all the modes my software has, and none of them worked.

Thank you
Dusty

Good idea! I'll try to take a pic the next time I see one.

Hi all,
My tower is coming down next Tuesday and I will be silent for a very long time.
I am planning to relocate (Texas or Oregon).
Thank you for keeping me a little active. I made 250 PSK Q's in 5 years, much less than I wanted to.
That's DXing I guess.
Hope to get back on next year.

That mode didn't work for me in decoding this signal.

Thanks

Note: its about twice is wide as a psk signal.

Or see if you can do an audio capture of it. I know in fldigi you can do File->Audio->RX capture

I assume most (if not all) software can capture it in a similar manner.

Art, you'll be missed. The Republic of Tejas is OK. Oregon is good too.
Depending on where you settle, both states, for the most part, have lenient antenna laws.
If your travels bring you through So. California, please call? I'll email you my contact info.

This appears to be PSK63.   The trace has all the shape attributes of a PSK signal.   It’s apparently twice as wide as what I assume are PSK31 signals on the waterfall.

If the op was over-driving the signal or had something else going on that distorted his signal’s tones, your software may not have been able to decode it.

Sorry to hear the tower is coming down Art!  But there always comes a time to paint your wagon and move along!  Texas and Oregon - either will be a change after AZ.

In the meantime, don't give up on getting on the air.  It isn't a tower and beam, but you will be amazed what a hamstick, mag mount, battery, laptop, and the rig will do on PSK31 with only 50w or so.  Talk to Dick - KC3EF - the king of PSK31 mobile!  He has worked all over the US and Canada while mobile with just a hamstick.  (But with Kathy driving of course!)  During the 2016 Christmas Holiday I worked KY, ND, and PA for my 366 - portable from the parking lot at a hotel in Jacksonville, Florida.  You don't have to go mobile.  You can sit your driveway or the local A&W (there still are A&W's aren't there?) and have tons of fun!

Hope to see you on the waterfall and work you in a lot less than a year!

Thank you. I have Mixw software and I don't believe it can decode psk63.

Yes it can, I use MixW and it definitely will do all the psk modes.

That is PSK31 and 14.070 is the freq they use.

If it is twice as wide (it doesn’t look like a very wide signal on the picture) then try PSK63 or PSK125 which would definitely be wider and they use the same frequency.
