Congratulations N1KRC – Paul!!!
I do good to find anyone daily to chat with, but keep trying as I like PSK so much.
Several achievements, just what we can do if we get on as often as we can and play to have fun.

Rough morning on 20m

Jerry N9AVY

Weak signals and QSB made for some challenging QSOs.  Had a few call “test” and CQ on top of my CQ plus worked a DL station whose signal was difficult to decode.  I long for the good old days when signals were thicker than fleas on a hound dawgs back…  now looks like someone put a flea collar on Rollo !  😊

20m seems to open, BUT

There just aren’t a lot of stations on the air.  Sitting here I’m watching SV and EA7 and others in Europe.  Everyone is eiher on a different mode/band or do other stuff.

Rick,
Did not see K2AMF. Have only seen 3 stations this week on 30.

Maybe 23 can make the Washington/Idaho connection some time

Re: Rough morning on 20m

Mike Tarnowsky

Hello, just re-installed my OCf dipole after a move from Florida to North Carolina. It was on a box with my equip for about 9 months. Radios and accesories work fine.
Powered everything up and tried to find some activity. Found faint ssb on 40m. Where's the beef?  All bands dead in the day? Cannot even hear FT8, although JTalert shows
there are 600+ qso's going on. I cannot hear anything. Tried a different antenna, but same thing. Everything worked fine in Florida with dipole at only 35 ft high. Am I in a black hole here in the
mountains? I was OK thru the low sunspot cycle in Florida, but this is like listening to the radio with no antenna. Anyone else have empty bands?
Thanks for listening, Can't use my macro for sign-off so 73, Mike T. WB2YJS Grid EM85
